Register for the 2019 AGM
The Alberta Seed Growers are hosting their 90th Annual General Meeting at Mount Kidd Manor in Kananaskis from February 7-9, 2019.
NOTE: Seed Grower members must register to guarantee there is seating and food for all! Select “Seed Grower Member Registration” in order to get your complimentary AGM registration.
Set against a picturesque mountain backdrop, our event will feature industry updates, informative speakers, networking opportunities, and the chance to get up close and personal with the Alberta Seed Growers’ board of directors. Plan to be a part of our meeting and participate in shaping the future of the seed industry!
The AGM will kick off on Thursday, February 7 with a Member Q&A with your ASG Board of Directors, followed by a reception, awards banquet and banquet entertainment. We will be releasing an agenda soon outlining the sessions and speakers for the official AGM on Friday, February 8.
An optional stay and play in the mountains Family Event will follow our AGM on Saturday morning, February 9. This year we are snow tubing at the Nakiska ski resort. Your Family Event ticket will include: a snow tube pass, return transportation from Mount Kidd Manor, and lunch at the ski resort afterward. If you are planning to attend, please select a ticket option for each family member attending. Children under 5 years old attend for free, however, please register each child attending so they receive an official Nakiska snow-tube pass.
Event registration refunds will be provided until January 30, 2019. Following that date, registrations will only be transferrable.
ASG Member registrations are FREE, however to ensure that we have great food and a comfortable seat for every participant, PLEASE pre-register by January 3, 2019! The event rate for hotel registration closes on January 6, 2019.
Registration for this event closes at noon on Thursday, January 24, 2019.

ASG FarmTech Special Event: Is Planting Certified Seed Cost Effective?

Is Planting Certified Seed Cost Effective
This study provides information and economic analysis for Alberta’s wheat producers regarding considerations for the type of seed they chose to plant. The information focuses on a cost comparison between saving seed for planting versus purchasing certified seed.
Ryan Furtas is a Market Analyst with Alberta Agriculture and Forestry where he covers the farm input market segment in the Economics and Competitiveness Branch. Ryan and his family currently live in Edmonton but he grew up on a mixed farm south of Lloydminster. He graduated from the University of Alberta with a BSc in Agriculture. Ryan previously held positions in Alberta with the CWB as well as in crop protection sales for BASF.

The Alberta Seed Growers are hosting our 89th annual general meeting at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity from Feb. 24-26, 2018.
Note to members: Click on the ‘Enter Promotional Code’ prompt in the top right window of the ticket window and enter the code ‘Member’ before selecting tickets and clicking ‘Checkout’.

Come be a part of our meeting and participate in shaping the future of the seed industry!
The event will kick off on Saturday, February 24 with an optional family event – snow tubing at the Banff Norquay ski hill. For more information, click here: http://winter.banffnorquay.com/snow-tubing/. The shuttle bus will leave for the hill at 1:00 p.m. and return around 4:00 p.m. The day of tubing will conclude with a dinner afterwards at the Banff Centre’s Kinnear Centre – 103 around 6 p.m. If you are planning to attend, please select the ticket option for the “Family Event” when prompted.
If skiing is more your idea of winter fun, there are a variety of shuttle options from the Banff Centre. More information on the skiing shuttle options is available at seedalberta.ca. If you are not planning on tubing, you are still very much welcome to join us for dinner and share some stories from your day. Just select the “Family Event – Dinner Only” ticket option to register.
The AGM will kick off on Sunday, February 25 with a “Partnerships in Agriculture” session followed by a reception, awards banquet and banquet speaker. We will be releasing an agenda soon outlining the sessions and speakers for the official AGM on Monday, February 26.

Hotel accommodation at the Banff Centre will be booked on a first-come first-serve basis and will fill up quickly.
